Meadowlark Optics is an expert in the use of birefringent polymers and liquid crystals for polarization control in precision optical applications. These innovative materials, unlike naturally occurring crystalline materials, offer a dramatically different product that combines high performance with cost-effectiveness.
Our polymer retarder assembly consists of birefringent polymer material laminated between two precision polished, optically flat BK-7 windows. Antireflection coatings and index matching optical cement help to maximize transmission in the visible to near-infrared region. This construction ensures excellent transmitted wavefront quality while minimizing beam deviation and surface reflection losses. Precision Polymer Retarders offer excellent angular field-of-view because they are true zero-order retarders.
